Pulsar unveiled the world's first LED, electronic, digital watch in 1972. Made of 18 kt rose gold, the watch sold for the equivalent of nearly $12,000 today. A module from this watch is now on display at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. An immediate success, the Pulsar P2 2900 LED digital watch was featured in the James Bond movie, Live and Let Die, the following year. In this film, a close up of Bond pushing the button on this side of his watch to display the time occurs twice, launching an even larger following of this watch model.
